Ⅰ.Program Objectives

This program establishes the basic knowledge and application skills of the environmental engineering according to the national environmental strategy of sustainable development and the necessity of Two-style Society development. This program nurtures talents in environmental engineering and management with the ability both in engineering practice and innovation ability.

Students will be competent to do design, engineering construction, environmental planning, environmental assessment, research & development, education and management jobs in the field of environmental engineering or related ones.

Ⅱ.Learning Outcomes

Students of this degree will acquire:

1. Having sustainable developing thought, solid grounding in both natural science and humanities, mastering the theory and means of environmental planning, management and assessment.

2. Principles and technologies including environmental science and engineering, skills in engineering surveying, environmental engineering design, and abilities in engineering construction and its management;

3. Systematic presentation, modeling, analyzing and demonstration of environmental engineering problems;

4. Skills of engineering drafting, computer application, ability to use general testing and experiment apparatus, skills of information and literature searching& collecting;

5.Ability of continuous studying and life-long education.

Ⅲ.Program Highlights

Cultivating technology and compound talents who have former knowledge in science, technology and humanities. Cultivating technology talents in the area of waste water treatment engineering, solid waste treatment and disposal, air pollution control engineering and environmental monitoring. Cultivating compound talents in the area of environmental planning, management and assessment. The graduates could resolve the complex environmental problems in one or more areas.
